Who we are

Kevin Cavanaugh

Director and Coach

Kevin grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. He played high school lacrosse at Saint Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, NY; one of the nation’s top-ranked HS lacrosse programs. Growing up “on” Long Island, he developed a deep love for and knowledge of the game. In 1993, Kevin received the Long Island Lacrosse Foundation’s Unsung Hero Award as a short-stick defensive midfielder (ssdm). He played college lacrosse at Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont; a program that now competes in the competitive Northeast-10 division II conference.

Kevin is currently Senior Lecturer of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. He has clear enthusiasm for teaching students at all levels and even brings a little chemistry to the field on occasion. Besides being a baller, Kevin understands the modern college landscape, and wants to help mold resilient student-athletes who know what to expect from their future. He knows what first-year college students experience as they transition to life away from home, and can help parents and student-athletes choose the right path forward.
